The puppies are fully registered with the NSW Canine Council. The pups will be microchipped, wormed and given their first set of vaccinations before they leave us.
Our pups are whelped in our home, and spend their first weeks in our kitchen or family room with constant human contact. The are introduced to a variety of sights and sounds and neighbourhood children so that they will be well socialized.
In addition, each puppy is given individual attention addressing its unique personality and character.
See the puppy photo gallery.
Bio-sensor conditioning
We have adopted the Bio Sensor method to start our new pups off. The pups will be individually handled in a way designed by the US Army for their Super Dog program.
The handling stimulates the development of a more trainable and healthier dog. See more about bio-sensor conditioning.
Temperment testing
The pups will be temperment tested at six weeks. Hopefully this will help place the right pups with each family.
Let us know if you have plans to show or obedience train your puppy and we will try to select a pup suited to that purpose. There are no guarantees of course! How you handle your pup when you get her home will be the biggest determining factor.
Diet and feeding
Ruby and her pups are fed on an all natural, raw food diet. They thrive on it and it works out to be quite inexpensive.
The basis of the diet is raw chicken carcasses and mashed fruit and vegetables. Meaty bones are offered daily and make up about 25% of the diet.
This diet seems to suit Airedales - Ruby no longer gets the itchy skin and summer 'hot spots' that she used to get when on a commercial diet.
When you get your pup home
Your pup will need a secure yard and a warm bed in the house. Crate training is highly recommended. It gives the pup a safe haven when he's tired and helps considerably with house training.
Your pup will need a secure collar or harness and a leash for going out in the world.
Puppies should have three meals a day at first, gradually reducing to one by the time they are 6-8 months. Give meaty bones daily to keep their teeth clean and breath fresh.
We will do everything we can to get the puppy ready for the transition to its new home. The rest will be up to you!
